The annual club barbecue took place on
Saturday June 24th at the Surlingham Ferryhouse. Members were able to
experience the club’s new marquee for the first time. This served members very
well, as 24 of them were able to sit round a single table to eat what can only
be described as a superb meal. As usual Sonia’s meal portions were large and
the meat was cooked to perfection by Andy Bale.
Kelvin Halifax organised the evening’s
entertainment; which was a mother and son duo, Lisa and Leon. They quickly
assessed their audience and played numbers which went down well with all
present. Many members (and other people off boats) were on their feet dancing,
even after a big meal!
Although numbers were down on recent
years, everyone enjoyed themselves and the whole occasion was a success.
