Annual Dinner & Prize Giving, 2007
Thanks are due to the Secretary, ably assisted by the Commodore, for another successful dinner and prize-giving. Held, as usual, at the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club in Lowestoft, 90 people enjoyed an excellent meal in the usual convivial company. The Commodore did not get heckled too much during his speech (Harriet was told to keep quiet, much to Joe's disappointment!), the raffle did not have the confusion of last year's similarly coloured tickets and the prize-giving was dispatched with efficiency. The only disappointment, for some, was that the Adnams ran out too soon.
As well as handing out trophies for individual races during the year, the club championship winners were announced: Puck taking the 15% and
over category and Nutcracker winning the 14% and under section. The Luna
Barometer Open River Championship was this year shared between two boats:
Henrietta and Nutcracker. The full list of trophy holders can be seen here and photographs here
We will gloss over the question of quite how many ladies a certain ex-Commodore took into the gents toilets...
